That said, playing Stardew Valley on a mobile device will enable a certain secret extra called Multiplayer, which ConcernedApe included in update 1.6 for both console and mobile platforms.

For mobile players, though, it is all-new and thrilling, while the feature had been available for both console and PC players since the 1.3.27 release in 2018. Nonetheless, ConcernedApe himself gave the following warnings about the feature, which is experimental and may include some bugs:

All this means is that the more difficult it is to connect or host a farm on a mobile network, the greater the likelihood of connection drops, disrupted gameplay, or even crashing the game. Ape also said that this function-a little glitches and bugs-might appear since it still is an experimental stage of the function. Try not to get into this process if you want to keep your expectations as realistic as expecting anything less than perfection.

How to turn on Stardew Valley mobile multiplayer?

If you want to play with friends, you'll have to go through a bit of a process that includes the classic Konami Code. Just in case you're unfamiliar, here is the Konami Code:

Up, down, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Start

You'll want to remember the rest of this for enabling Multiplayer on mobile, but you can skip the "B, A, Start" part.

The first time you launch the Stardew Valley mobile app, the main menu screen shows the Stardew Valley logo and the standard options to either launch a new game or load an existing game. Look closely at the logo and you will see four sets of leaves. Each set of leaves represents a direction, as shown here:

You will have to follow a pattern similar to the Konami Code: touching the leaves in order of UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT.
Just because the leaves ruffle under your fingertips, that doesn't mean the press is effective. Then head to the bottom right of the screen and press the "?"; then close the appeared window; and last but not least-you should have "Co-op" visible on the main menu.

How to play Stardew Valley multiplayer on mobile?

You'll need to share your IP address to host or join an existing game; unfortunately, farm "discovery" is not an option in mobile multiplayer.

ConcernedApe suggests that to get the most out of your mobile multiplayer, you will want to connect your high-end mobile device on a local network-such as Wi-Fi-with a PC-hosted farm. You may still try to set up a game or connect through cell phone data, but optimal performance may require creating a mobile wi-fi hotspot for setup.

This means, with regard to mobile multiplayer, the feature is geared towards local players, not those playing remotely. Also added to that, everyone needs to be using the same version of Stardew Valley for the game to work.

To host a game, you will need to prepare a farm and have cabins for all of those who will join. Those players who want to join, will need to enter the host's IP address. Before the host sets up their farm, they should find their IP address or else they could get disconnected. There are two ways to do this:

Those who have iOS: Set up Wi-Fi within the Settings menu > Tap the "i" that comes up besides your Wi-Fi name > In the reappeared list of IP addresses On an Android device, do this: Open "Settings" > "Network & Internet" > "Internet" above Go to your Wi-Fi network's settings and tap the gear icon on the right. Try to guess what says IP name
