Stalker 2 has finally here, after a long wait of over fifteen years, and it has had an incredibly successful launch, selling over a million copies in only two days, on both PC and Xbox systems. Unfortunately, the PC version of Stalker 2 lacks adequate field-of-view scaling and is unavailable during cutscenes, even if it supports ultrawide. Fortunately, a hero has emerged—Lyall—who has made available a utility to resolve the PC-specific ultrawide difficulties with Stalker 2.

How To Fix the Ultrawide Issues on PC

Although Stalker 2 is compatible with ultrawide displays, the game's cutscenes seem distorted at resolutions of 21:9 or above due to vert-scaling, and the game itself employs black bars at the sides of the screen. In his patch, Lyall fixes the scale and gets rid of pillarboxing, therefore it fixes both issues.

Here is how to install the tool, which is actually rather easy.

  • The most recent version of STALKER2Tweak can be downloaded from the following GitHub link.
  • To begin the download, go to the "Assets" section and choose the zip file for Steam or Xbox.

In addition to these enhancements and new features, the STALKER2Tweak adds:

  • Turn on the developer workspace.
  • Fix the X/Y sensitivity mismatch and disable mouse smoothing.
  • Rotate the field of view of the viewmodel.
  • Make cutscenes not use pillarboxing or letterboxing.
  • Correct the vertical field of view (FOV) issue on an ultrawide monitor.

These can be modified by modifying the STALKER2Tweak.ini file, which is located at:

  • Win64 Stalker2 Binaries
  • Just set the 'Enabled' value of a parameter to false to disable that functionality of STALKER2Tweak. Since these adjustments are often for the better, we advise keeping everything set to true.
