In STALKER 2, you'll be immersed in the world of Zona, where strange occurrences happen frequently. There are various varieties, and they are all quite easy to kill. Find out what to do about them on this page of the manual.

How to deal with anomalies

Categories of STALKER 2 abnormalities

In the first moments of STALKER 2, you will come across some peculiarities. You can handle most anomalies simply by avoiding them, although there are quite a few of them.

Anomaly of suction—it devours nearby objects, causing extensive harm.
The fire anomaly resembles a fiery geyser. Although it doesn't deal much damage, being within its range will result in constant damage.
If an electrical anomaly is present, it will generate an electric field. A lot of damage will be done if you enter it.
The player is ensnared within by an air anomaly, the last supernatural occurrence that hinders their movement. Someone appears to have become ensnared in the eye of a tornado. This does a lot of damage.
Green patches of acid on the floor indicate an acid anomaly. Damage will result upon entering it. Despite their diminutive size, exercise caution when in their vicinity.
A gas anomaly is a verdant cloud that, if approached too closely, can cause poisoning.
Unusual glass feature - very difficult to see. This anomaly is responsible for the observation of tiny glass particles floating in midair. When you enter it, the bleeding status will be applied.
A big bubble known as a bubble anomaly will rupture if you try to enter it, fire it, or throw a bolt at it. There will be a plethora of tiny bubbles visible if you stand near it following the explosion. Your character is poisoned by this abnormality.
Anomaly of levitation is one of the less dangerous ones. As soon as you step inside, you'll feel a little lift off the ground. No harm will come from it.
Anomalies in the game can be flashy and sometimes difficult to see. A tremendous explosion and flash will occur when you get close to them. The two are often found side by side. It can set off a domino effect if you throw a bolt at it.
On top of that, there are arch anomalies, which are less common but far more dangerous:

To the east of Zalissya lies Bulba, a huge bubble in the Lesser Zone. As it takes in air during its "breathing" motion, it also swallows anything nearby, including Skif. Your character's health will fall as soon as they are sucked into the arch anomaly. The What is Bulba? page has more information on the subject.

A mesmerizing and perhaps lethal expanse of crimson poppies is known as Poppy expanse. The player's screen will gradually darken as they grow increasingly sleepy the longer they remain in it. In the end, Skif might pass out and die. An energy drink will significantly lengthen the time it takes you to get around this area.

Anomalies: what to do?

Once you finish the first mission, you'll wake up in a world full with strange things. You will be struck by a bolt thrown by a nearby NPC. To handle these occurrences, you can utilize it. Their supply is infinite, so you may rest assured that you will never be short on them.

When you come across an anomaly, your best bet is to either stay far away from it or shoot a bolt at it to make it active, after which you should dash past it. Some anomalies like pulsating auras, some are shaped like clouds of green smoke, while yet others resemble bubbles or acid pools. Fortunately, when you approach one, your scanner will begin to emit a louder noise.

That being said, not every anomaly operates in this manner. When you get too close to a fire phenomenon, for instance, it will release a jet of flames that will continue to wreak havoc for quite some time. No amount of bolting will make the acid puddle go. You should approach each of them in a slightly different way, and if it's not absolutely required or if you aren't searching for artifacts, you should just ignore them.
