Here we will show you the exact point in Stalker 2's Detention Center basement where you will be able to find a key.
Detention Center basement key location in Stalker 2
Asking the soldier stationed outside the first-floor room with the bunk beds, "What is this place?" will cause him to say that something is in the basement. The most crucial piece of information is that someone has told him the key is on the first floor.
The basement key of the Detention Center can be found by stealing a desk from a small office room in the southeast corner of the building. Up in the photo album above, we've circled the specific location. Exit the headquarters of Star and his crew via the stairwell, exit the building, cross the yard utilizing the metal catwalks, and then head left into the entrance. The room is on the left side of the road. When entering, on the desk, on the upper shelf, is the Heavy Key. Get outta here quick because there is a thermal anomaly walking the halls.
The Key to the Basement of the Detention Center
Head back to the Star entrance, but instead of going up the steps, use the key on the closed door at the bottom. Continue into the basement. Move into the first room on the left and look straight ahead for the erupting-in-flames anomaly that's beside Fat life. Loot the Old Key from it, then exit the basement.
Find the soldier outside Star's headquarters and return to him; then, head down the hallway. On your right, you should see a pair of red doors; head straight down until you reach them. To open it, use the Old Key. Inside this room is some nice loot like bandages, medkits, grenades, and ammunition.
Generally speaking, knowing the Detention Center basement key location in Stalker 2, allows you to get close to a place where you will see dangerous anomalies.
