The Mural Puzzle is encountered during Hinako’s last major exploration of the Otherworld, following the traumatic events at the Shimizu Residence. After witnessing the fate of her parents, she returns to a familiar yet distorted space, accompanied by the enigmatic Fox Mask. Here, she must confront one final challenge before facing her truth.The mural itself is a large, fox-themed tableau with nine empty slots. Initially, you can’t interact with it meaningfully. Clues are provided via two scrolls flanking the mural, offering poetic hints that vary depending on difficulty level:

• Story Mode Clue: “The Black Bird wishes to take the White Bird. The White Bird wishes to resist. The Fox brings along his followers in triumph. He notices not the two birds in conflict.”
• Hard Mode Clue: “PUT THE WORDS HERE WHEN FOUND.”

To proceed, players must locate three crests: the Fox Mask Crest, the Black Sparrow Crest, and the White Sparrow Crest.

• Housemaid’s Note

Use your Focus ability to reveal hidden walls and secrets. At the end of this path lies the Black Sparrow Crest.

🕊️ Locating the White Sparrow Crest

Return to the Inari hall, now populated with more statues. Repeat the process: collect items, find the wounded statue, and follow its glowing eyes. Before advancing, grab another Ornate Scroll and Housemaid’s Note.

Beyond the door, explore thoroughly. The key document here is the Strict Mother’s Letter. After navigating the area and defeating any threats, you’ll obtain the White Sparrow Crest.

🦊 Acquiring the Fox Mask Crest

The final crest is hidden behind the most complex path yet. The hall now contains more Inari statues than ever. Again, locate the injured statue and follow its guidance. This time, you’ll encounter an optional door marked with the Inari symbol. Use the Brooch received earlier to unlock it.

Inside, you’ll find rare items:

• Mandate of the Clan
• Ema Plate
• Letter With A Pressed Flower

Continue through the correct door, collect another Ornate Scroll, and battle through a red-tinted room. A cutscene featuring Junko awaits at the end, followed by the Fox Mask Crest.

Start by identifying the fox leading the group. Among the mural’s characters, only one fox stands at the front, holding a fan and seemingly oblivious to the chaos behind. Insert the Fox Mask Crest into this fox’s fan.
