With the recent update to Rainbow Six Siege X on June 10, 2025, which introduced many improvements and new modes, players now have the opportunity to earn a free Sledge skin by completing specific in-game challenges. These challenges are time-consuming but are not overly difficult, making the skin an attainable reward for dedicated players.This guide will detail how to acquire the free Sledge skin in Rainbow Six Siege X.

Rainbow Six Siege X: How to get Sledge skin

To unlock the free Sledge skin, you must participate in the brand-new Dual Front mode and successfully complete three distinct challenges within it.

Understanding Dual Front Mode

Dual Front is a new permanent 6v6 game mode in Rainbow Six Siege X where teams simultaneously attack and defend. Each team has its own sector to protect while also pushing to conquer the enemy's sector.

• Objectives: The primary objective on offense is to claim the enemy's sector by planting a Sabotage Kit and defending it until a countdown finishes. Once this is done, your objective updates, leading to further sectors and eventually the enemy HQ. Simultaneously, your defensive team must be vigilant, as the enemy team is on a similar offensive track against your sectors.
• Gameplay: This mode features a large map (currently "District") with two parallel lanes (offensive and defensive) connected by a neutral zone. Players have unlimited respawns and can switch Operators after dying, allowing for dynamic adaptation.
• Side Objectives: The neutral zone can also host side objectives, such as hostage extractions, which, when completed, can grant buffs to your team.
  

The Three Challenges for the Sledge Skin

The free Sledge skin is awarded upon the completion of the following three challenges in Dual Front mode:

Play Dual Front 10 times:

• This is the most straightforward challenge. Simply participating in 10matches of Dual Front, regardless of win or loss, will count towardsthis objective.

Have your team claim a sector 20 times in Dual Front:

• This challenge requires teamwork. Your team needs to successfully completethe objective of planting and defending the Sabotage Kit in an enemysector 20 times across your Dual Front matches.

Have your team extract the hostage 2 times in Dual Front:

• As mentioned, Dual Front includes dynamic side objectives, one of which is Hostage Rescue. After the initial in-game objectives (claiming sectors) have beenaccomplished, look for opportunities to rescue the hostage from theneutral zone. Your team needs to successfully extract the hostage twiceto complete this challenge.

Operator Choice: Sledge is often considered a perfect operator for beginners due to his straightforward approach to destruction and utility. This free skin provides an excellent cosmetic reward for players who enjoy him or are looking to main him.

Once all three challenges are completed, the free Sledge skin will be earned and should become available to equip for the Operator in your in-gameinventory.
