The Cure is in the Ground: Medicinal Root and Mandrake

When a Looker—one of those infected, orange-clad scouts—sinks its teeth into you, your priority is to find one of two key items:

• Medicinal Root: Your reliable and silent savior.
• Mandrake: A more dramatic alternative that lets out a piercing scream when consumed.

Both resemble carrots with green leaves sprouting from the top and are scattered throughout the new ROOTS biome. Once you find and eat one, your Spores infection will be completely purged, and the meter will stop its ominous rise. You've cheated a grisly fate!

How to (Safely) Get Infected in the First Place

To earn the achievement, you first need to get bitten. If you're playingsolo, venture deep into the ROOTS biome. Keep your eyes peeled for theLooker. It will aggressively lunge at you, and a single bite is all ittakes. You'll know you're infected by the new Spores meter next to yourstamina bar. Remember, the clock is ticking—if your stamina depletescompletely before you find a cure, it's game over. You'll join the ranks of the undead.
