While you can't respec right at the start of the game, there's no need to restart if you wish to stick with the same class. Upon completing The Mysterious Shade, which is suggested for players around level 8 with rare items, The Hooded One will regain full strength and take up residence in town. This location will also serve as the spot where you can refund your passive skill points.
Refunding Passive Skill Points in Path of Exile 2: A Step-by-Step Guide
For a refund of passive skill points and to respec, simply approach The Hooded One in town and choose the option, "Refund Passives". This feature allows you to access your passive skill tree, enabling you to choose which passive skills to refund. The cost in gold will vary based on the number of skills you decide to refund. Refunds are limited to the most recent passives in the tree, so if you're looking to refund an earlier skill, you'll need to take a step back and work your way backward.
Refund as many or as few skills as you wish at any time, with no restrictions on frequency or timing for future refunds.
After the points are refunded, they will reappear in the passive skill tree menu, just like when you level up, allowing you to choose any skills you desire. Every class has access to a variety of weapons, including the Mercenary's Crossbow. It's advisable to switch your passives when trying out a new weapon, as each one offers unique skills and play styles.
