Finding the Puzzle Location

Your first task is to locate the challenge. The puzzle is housed within the Research Wing in the Golden Ridge area. As you progress through the main story quest "On the Trail of the Traitor," you'll receive the optional task to save the hostages. Begin by retrieving the Research Wing key from a cellar. Once you have it, head upstairs, dealing with any hostile encounters along the way. Keep a sharp eye out for painted arrows on the walls—they are your trusted guides leading directly to the puzzle room.

The Orb Puzzle Solution: A Stage-by-Stage Walkthrough

The puzzle involves guiding a large orb along a set path by manipulatingplatforms and clearing obstacles. Follow these steps carefully:

The Starting Point: You'll find the orb resting on a railing with a floor plate in front of it. Step onto this plate to retract the initial block, allowing the orb to begin its journey.

Follow the Path: The orb will roll forward, following the arrows. Your job is to use the adjacent platforms on the left to clear its path. Step on the firstplatform you see to remove the next obstruction.

Descend and Destroy: The orb's path will lead it to an upper level. To continue, you need to jump down the nearby hole to reach the courtyard below. Once there,look up! You will see barricades blocking the orb's way. Shoot them down to let it proceed.

Console Control: After the orb stops for a third time, locate a console nearby.Interacting with it will release a platform, creating a bridge for theorb to continue rolling.

Lift and Repeat: The orb will eventually fall into a crevice. Step onto the platformnext to it to raise the orb back to its track. You will need to performthis "lift" maneuver one more time shortly after.

The Final Drop: After the second lift, the orb will complete its journey by droppinginto a final hole. This successful run will activate the keypunchmechanical safe, granting you the Auto-Pneumatic Keypunch Activation Keycard and a bonus item, the Pinnacle Perfume Kilo.

With the keycard in your possession, your task is nearly complete. Simplyexit the puzzle room and find the main console for the holding cells.Use the Activation Keycard on this console to finally release thehostages, officially concluding this rewarding optional mission.
