After the game's opening mission, you'll find yourself near the main settlement of Fairfield.Just to the west of this town, you will spot a lone, unassuming shack. It’s within this small building that the war chest awaits, sitting prominently on the floor just to the right as you step inside. Keep an eye on your map for landmarks near Fairfield to make your search easier.Two Proven Methods to Open the Chest
Once you've found the chest, you'll be met with a secure lock. Fortunately, you have two primary paths to get it open:Method 1: The Lockpick Skill (The Direct Approach)If you’re eager to get the loot without any extra legwork, you can bypass the lock entirely with your skills. Interacting with the chest will reveal that it requires a Level 5 Lockpick skill and one Mag-Pick tool.- Leveling Up: You earn two skill points each time you level up, so investing in the Lockpick skill early is a smart move for any treasure hunter.
- Finding Mag-Picks: These handy tools are common finds throughout the world, often tucked away in crates and containers, and can be purchased from various vendors.
This method is perfect for players who want immediate gratification and are building a character with a talent for security.
Method 2: Find the Keycard (The Stealthy Route)
For those who prefer a more subtle approach or haven't invested in Lockpicking, you can seek out the official key.
To get Kaur's War Chest Keycard, you'll need to get your hands dirty with a bit of pickpocketing. First, you must acquire the Pickpocket perk, which requires a base Lockpick skill of Level 1.
Once you have the perk, head to the large building in Fairfield where youinitially met Kaur and Milverstreet. Find Kaur in her office, sneak upbehind her, and use the pickpocket prompt to lift the keycard right from her pocket. It’s a clean and quiet way to get what you need.
