You might not know, but this expedition in New World gives you the choice to fly the banners of one of three organizations. How­ever, the game doesn't give you any hints on when or how to do so. New World Aeternum: How To Join and Change Factions



Joining a faction in New World: Aeternum is unavailable to players before level 17. Once you finally get there, you can join any one of the three available playable factions, namely:


Coalition of Marauders Syndicate


Once you've reached a certain point, a new quest will appear above the head of any NPC from the given faction. Talking to any of them will begin a brief chain of quests that will result in you eventually joining that given faction. There really isn't one faction which is considered superior to the rest, although there are a couple things to take into consideration:



  • You can only join businesses that are part of your faction. You cannot join the Covenant if you are in the Syndicate and all of your friends are in the Covenant.
  • There is no "best" faction, but rather the ones most played depending on server popularity. It would be a good idea to make sure to see which one is most popular worldwide on chat before making your final decision.
  • Since for instance, going with the Syndicate over the Covenant doesn't actually make you a better player, you can simply follow your instinct and pick the faction that suits your roleplaying needs best.


Changing Factions


Once you have chosen your faction in New World: Aeternum, it is not possible to make immediate changes. You'll have to wait for 60 days before switching. The positive side here is that this won't cost a single thing but will require you to endure the cooldown. In such a case, unless completely necessary-for example, to join a firm-you should always be loyal to the very first side you choose.



Ultimately, you should not have any pressures to joining the most popular group in the server. Yes, there is a couple of benefits, but it really boils down to your personal style. You do not have to if you absolutely must, but after all, it takes about two months to be switched.
