To start the makeover, press the corresponding button. You can edit your Hunter's gender, facial features, and other physical qualities as if you were creating them from scratch with the Character Edit Voucher. But you can't change your character's name on the voucher.

You can access your Item Box in your room in Astera or Seliana and modify your character's hair and makeup if you're not into changing their appearance. You can use the Item Box to change your look whenever you want without spending any money or using up a voucher.

Mods allow PC players to freely alter their appearance. Nonetheless, you shouldn't do this because it could corrupt your saves or lead to account bans for possible violations of the EULA.

Similar to other games' transmog systems, the Layered Armor system allows you to alter the look of your equipped armor sets. To customize your look, you can make Layered Armor in the Smithy and then adjust its parameters in an Item Box. Wearing or removing any piece of layered armor is completely free of charge, and it has no influence on your Armor Skills or set effects when equipped.

Steps to Gain Access to Layered Armor

As you go through the game, you'll encounter extra missions and event quests that will unlock new Layered Armor options. You will be able to create Layered Armor at the Smithy as soon as you get the necessary materials. Layered Armor doesn't have quite severe manufacturing requirements compared to true armor, although some of them do demand resources that aren't exactly commonplace in your average hunts.

The ingredients for Layered Armor can be found exclusively in monsters or missions of the corresponding rank, which are Low Rank, High Rank, and Master Rank. Hunt Tempered beasts in the Guiding Lands if you desire all sets of Master Rank Layered Armor. Do all of the tasks, because some sets might be locked behind them.
