The trick is to try and keep yourself from dying, not to focus on keeping yourself alive. They may sound like the same thing, but there is nuance to what I am saying. The more you understand the difference, the easier it will be for you to thrive!

But, I may be getting a bit ahead of myself. Some of you might be scoffing at the idea of needing help to beat Minecraft Hardcore mode. You may even give an eye roll and say, “I can do that so fast my Jackpot Capital Casino download won’t even be finished!”

That may be true, but something tells me you haven’t played Minecraft recently, or at least never played hardcore Minecraft. Believe me, you don’t realize how hard it is to not die until you have to delete your world if you do die.

But, I think there has been more than enough chitchat. Let’s get right down to it and explain, how can you survive and thrive on a Minecraft hardcore survival world?

Prioritize

The first thing that is absolutely imperative is that you prioritize what is most important on your first day. The first day is essentially going to decide how well the rest of your playthrough goes, if you have a poor first night, then the rest of the playthrough is going to be harder.

Why is this? Because this is where it all begins. If you start off poorly, it is going to be a while before you are able to stabilize and feel comfortable. And even then, you are never going to truly feel comfortable as there is so much at stake.

Everything moves slower in hardcore unless you are really experienced. You are always worried about what’s going to be around every corner, or if you are about to dig into a nest full of mobs that want to cut your playthrough short.

Now, back to what this is all about: Priorities. What should one prioritize on their first night? What are some things they don’t really need to worry about? Are there things they should forgo all together?

To start with, the number one thing you should prioritize is food. Food is the only thing you need in order to survive. Everything else will just aid you in how quickly you will progress in the game.

But, without food, you are going to have to worry about starving even if you don’t have monsters biting away at your feet, blowing you up, or stealing the walls from your house.

Now, if you end up with enough food and some time to spare, what should you prioritize next? Well, that would be progression. You may think you should make shelter, but you can dig a hole for shelter, so it’s not worth spending time on.

However, what you are going to want is to skip wooden tools. The only wooden tool you should ever have in Minecraft is a pickaxe. After that, you should immediately jump to stone.

If you can get all of this done in time, then you should try to get some coal. With coal, you can cook meat from animals to give you more satiation, or you can make torches to explore the caves while it is night.

This will allow you to waste less of your time. Mobs spawn in the dark, so if you are in a dark cave then it doesn’t matter if it is day or night.

In fact, it being night might even aid you. There are only a certain number of mobs that can spawn around you, and if some of those are on the surface, then that means they aren’t in the cave you are trying to mine in!

After you have these things, if you can, try to get a bed. Not to respawn obviously, as once you did you are done for good! Instead, it is to skip the night and protect yourself from Phantoms.

Skipping the night means less opportunity for something unexpected to go wrong and cause you to die. The more daylight you have, the fewer mobs are going to be around, and the better off you are going to be.

Play Defensively

The next tip I can give you is to play defensively, rather than recklessly. This means what I said earlier. Don’t worry about trying to keep yourself alive, worry about trying to keep yourself from dying!

That means don’t do something reckless like jumping down into a cave without all your gear. Or walking near lava without building some sort of barrier in case a skeleton starts popping arrows in you.

Another huge tip to protect yourself is to wall off everything! If you are exploring a new cave, wall off every single path you aren’t ready to go down yet or haven’t explored. The last thing you need is to have a creeper sneak up behind you from a path you didn’t block off properly.

This also means to play in a way that puts yourself in the least amount of danger. Instead of jumping down into the water at the bottom of a ravine, slowly build your way down to clear off any mobs that could be on the upper portions and drop down onto you.

Another thing is to regularly build roofs that are just as tall as you. Endermen can not fit into spaces that are only 2 blocks tall. So, if you lower the roof or raise the ceiling you wont have to worry about one teleporting into an area you thought was safe.

And, if you plan to go Enderman hunting, build a little outpost that they can not get under! Then you can simply wack at their legs with your sword or ax or shovel or whatever other weapons you choose. Although, you would be best served by a sword…

Calm Down

A final tip I can give you is to simply calm down. It is only a game, and there is nothing to be afraid of. I would argue that 99 percent of the time, you will die because you were too nervous and not thinking straight.

If you are able to keep your head clear, it’ll allow you to play smartly, and stay alive for longer. The moment you forget what you are doing, or act recklessly, you are as good as dead.

So, take a breather. Drink some water. If you think it is getting too intense for you, put the game down. Or, dig a hole or wall yourself off to allow you some time to breathe.

At the end of the day, it is just a game. So, you shouldn’t worry about it too much. If you die, you die! You can always try again! Nobody is going to judge you, and there is no reason to get upset if it doesn’t work out.

That’s part of the challenge. But, you can overcome it and come out victorious if you just try! All you need is to realize that you can do it. The more you play the better you get, and the better you get the more you play.

Games are all about having fun. So, give it a try, and have fun! If you aren’t having fun, then you should try a different game or a different game mode. It’s all about your enjoyment.
