Vinh has found his misplaced phone in the Living World, but he is unable to access it because he has forgotten his own passcode. Max must now determine the answer.
How to unlock Vinh’s phone in Chapter 2 in Life is Strange Double Exposure
Upon visiting Vinh in his office in the Living World, you will discover that he is unable to access his phone. He'll only offer you one piece of information: the year of death of a "magician scientist" is the pass code. Keeping that clue in mind, you must now travel to the Dead World, as the Living World is currently impassable. Enter the corridor and look for the portal on the right side of the stairs; it will lead you there.
When you return to Vinh's office in the Dead World, you'll see him sitting on the sofa to your right. He'll invite Max to join him as he drinks during the day (further information about each choice is below), and then they'll talk about the magician scientist.
Here are your two options:
- Gain access by taking advantage of a favor that Dead World Vinh owes you.
- The solution to this passcode mystery is readily available, so there's no need to use the favor and figure it out on your own.
After we finish talking, you can go to the library and look out the magician scientist's death date. This material can be found in "History of the Occult," which is located on shelf B6 in the column by the window. You can find out the scientist's death year 1952 by reading this.
With the passcode in hand, return to the Living World through the corridor's portal and locate Vinh's phone on his desk. Since he isn't around, you have plenty of time to peruse his gallery; what you find there may surprise you.
Vinh's alcohol consumption?
Vinh will invite Max to join him in his Whiskey-spiked coffee after he finds him sipping. This will cause Max to make a choice, the results of which are still uncertain. If you don't want to drink with Vinh, that's also an option. Whatever happens, you will still learn what you need to know to move on with this section of the plot.
Imbibe in Vinh (Exude allure)
If you buy Vinh a drink, he'll feel more comfortable opening up to you and you'll gain some of his trust. He'll fill you in on his high school days and other memories.
