Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Learn New Melee Combos
Finding Combat Masters:
Several weapon masters throughout the game can teach you new combat techniques. Some offer free lessons, while others charge for their expertise. These masters are marked on the map with a Skill Teacher icon. Here are some notable instructors in the Trosky region:
- Tomcat (Nomad Camp): Tomcat specializes in Master Strikes (after you defeat him in a fight) and other weapon combos (for a fee). He resides near the camp's combat arena.
- Herbalist Barnaby (Trosky): Barnaby is the grandmaster of hand-to-hand combat. However, learning from him requires completing a quest chain that begins in Zhelejov. This chain involves several quests:
- Speak with Lawrence at the Zhelejov Wagoner's Inn about fights to start "Wine, Women and Blood."
- Complete the "Materia Prima" quest from Miller Kreyzl at the Lower Semine Mill.
- Complete the "Melee at the Mill" quest (unlocked after "Materia Prima").
- Speak with Miller Kreyzl again to start "Best for Last," which leads you to Barnaby.
- Defeat Barnaby in a fistfight.
- Captain Gnarly (Semine Garrison): Gnarly teaches combos for longswords, polearms, and heavy weapons. You'll first encounter him during "The Jaunt" quest (part of "Wedding Crashers"). He's usually near the combat arena past the stables, but patrols the courtyard.
- Black Bartosch (Trosky Castle): After completing "Wedding Crashers" and "For Whom The Bell Tolls," you can access Trosky Castle and learn from Bartosch. He teaches techniques for all weapon types. You can also request a training fight with Bartosch to earn Strength XP.
Learning Sword Combos:
Tomcat is a good source for learningsword combos early in the game. Defeating him in combat is aprerequisite for free Master Strike lessons, but he'll teach othercombos for a price.
Learning Unarmed Combos:
Barnaby is the go-to master for unarmed combat. However, his lessons require completing a multi-part quest chain.
Learning Various Weapon Combos:
Captain Gnarly and Black Bartosch offer training in a variety of weapon types.Gnarly is available earlier in the game, while Bartosch becomesaccessible after completing specific main quests.
Improving Your Combat Skills:
Learning combos is only the first step. Practice these techniques regularly tomaster them and incorporate them into your fighting style. Engaging intraining fights with combat masters is a good way to earn experience and improve your skills. Be mindful of your health during these trainingsessions.
