In order to respect a character or hero, you will need to get a Tome of Regret, a green item that you can find while exploring the game. The first time you will find it will be in a quest called Old Monastery, in the Monastery, outside of Camelot. This is a level 4 side quest, so you will need to get to level 3 to access it.
