tier of
When it comes to battle literature, the best ones are the ones in the S-tier. In order to make fighting faster and more efficient, particularly against harder enemies, close-range fighters must use Brawler 1 and 2 as well as Street Scrapper 1 and 2. These weapons give considerable damage enhancements to both unarmed and melee assaults.
You can use these books at any point throughout the game. You can't do without Pep 1 and 2, as they both facilitate rapid stamina recovery, which is great for battles and area exploration.
first class
While S-tier fighting books have a greater influence on the game as a whole, A-tier books are powerful and cater to certain playstyles. With Throttle and Jumbo Throttle, you can whip small, medium, and heavy foes with ease, making them ideal for stealth-oriented playstyles. Their reliance on stealth limits their versatility, despite their potency. If you fall, Lucky Hat 1 will give you another chance, and Lucky Hat 2 will shorten its cooldown.
lower league
While B-tier books do have some useful features, they are usually either too situational or surpassed by more superior options. For crowd control or certain combat methods, Iron Grip 1's longer hold duration is useful, although it's not absolutely necessary in fast-paced engagements. Also, Jumbo Lasso gives you some tactical leeway by letting you catch heavy adversaries, although it's not nearly as useful as damage boosts or stamina upgrades. While Punch Out 1's stamina restoration via knocking out adversaries is helpful in longer battles, Pep's stamina recovery is more consistent and reliable.
lower division
C-tier books aren't worth your time because they don't have much use or are only useful in very specific situations. To avoid instant death from powerful strikes, Hardboiled 1 combines HP bars, but it doesn't have the reliable survivability boosts from faster regeneration or stamina recovery. Finally, Splinter Smash adds damage when a weapon breaks; nevertheless, this is a very situational benefit, since the majority of players try to keep their weapons from breaking altogether.
