Before you can add friends in Honkai Star Rail, you need to unlock the Friends tab. To do this, you'll need to progress through the main story line for at least two hours. Once you've done this, you'll need to complete a quest called Today is Yesterday’s Tomorrow: The Voyage Continues. This will unlock the Friends tab, which can be accessed from the main menu.
