Where To Find Every Dream Warrior Grave in Hollow Knight
This comprehensive guide will provide you with everything you need to know. We’ll cover the exact location of every Dream Warrior Grave, the Essence reward for each battle, and expert combat strategies to claim victory.
How to Find Warrior Graves
Before you begin your hunt, consider purchasing the Pin for them from Iselda's shop in Dirtmouth. This will mark their general locations on your map, saving you time. However, the precise directions below will lead you right to them.
1. Xero – The King's Traitor
- Essence Reward: 100
- Recommended Upgrades: None required, but any Nail upgrade helps.
Location & How to Reach:
Xero is almost always the first Warrior Dream players encounter. His grave is conveniently located in the Resting Grounds, just to the west of the Seer's chamber. You can access this area early by falling from Crystal Peak or later via the Tram from Ancient Basin.
Battle Strategy:
Xero floats around the arena, summoning Nails that shoot out from his position and retract, dealing damage on both passes. As his health decreases, he summons more Nails and his attacks become faster.
- Tip: His movement makes healing tricky. Use charms like Quick Focus to create safe windows or Baldur Shell for protection while healing. Attack him between his nail volleys.
2. No Eyes – The Sleepless
- Essence Reward: 200
- Recommended Upgrades: Lumafly Lantern (to access the area).
Location & How to Reach:
Find No Eyes in the Stone Sanctuary, a sub-area in the southeastern part of Greenpath. The entrance is a dark tunnel requiring the Lumafly Lantern to enter, located just below the Hunter's journal.
Battle Strategy:
No Eyes teleports around a spike-filled arena and does not attack directly. Instead, she summons glowing spirits that float horizontally across the screen.
- Tip: Focus on platforming and avoiding the spikes. Attack her when she materializes nearby. The spirits are relatively slow, making this a good fight to practice patience and opportunistic healing.
3. Elder Hu – The Traveling Sage
- Essence Reward: 100
- Recommended Upgrades: Nail or Spell upgrades.
Location & How to Reach:
Elder Hu resides in the Fungal Wastes. His grave is in a room directly above the large bridge that leads into the City of Tears, easily spotted on the map.
Battle Strategy:
Elder Hu teleports and uses two primary attacks: a set of rings that slamdown with safe gaps between them, and a row of rings that slam from theoutside in.
- Tip: He remains stationary during his attacks, leaving him wide open. Usethis time to land several Nail strikes or powerful spells like Vengeful Spirit.
4. Gorb – The Great Mind
- Essence Reward: 100
- Recommended Upgrades: Mantis Claw and Monarch Wings (to access the area).
Location & How to Reach:
Ascend to the Howling Cliffs. From Dirtmouth, head left to the starting area and climb the wall todiscover a new path. Gorb's grave is high up on a secluded platform inthe northeast section.
Battle Strategy:
Gorb's only attack is to release circular waves of spectral spears that travel across the entire arena.
- Tip: Keep your distance. The farther you are, the easier it is to see the gaps and dodge the spears. Ranged spells like Shade Soul are extremely effective here.
5. Galien – The Undefeated Warrior
- Essence Reward: 200
- Recommended Upgrades: Shade Cloak is highly recommended.
Location & How to Reach:
Galien awaits in the depths of Deepnest. His grave is in a room south of the Failed Tramway, off a central vertical shaft.
Battle Strategy:
Galien hurls a giant, tracking scythe that bounces around the room. As thefight progresses, he adds smaller, independent scythes to the mix.
- Tip: The Shade Cloak allows you to dash straight through his scythes. When he throws his weapon, he is left vulnerable in the air—punish him with Abyss Shriek for massive damage.
6. Marmu – The Royal Protector
- Essence Reward: 150
- Recommended Upgrades: Nail range or speed charms.
Location & How to Reach:
Marmu is found in the Queen's Gardens. From the local Stag Station, head left into a room with a hidden passage in the left wall.
Battle Strategy:
Marmu curls into a ball and bounces around the arena erratically.
- Tip: This is a game of tennis! Hitting Marmu with your Nail will knock her back. Charms like Quick Slash and Mark of Pride make it easy to "juggle" her against a wall. Her unpredictable bounces make healing very risky.
7. Markoth – The Forgotten Tribesman
- Essence Reward: 250
- Required Upgrade: Shade Cloak (to access the arena).
- Recommended Upgrades: Nail-based charms; this is a notoriously difficult fight.
Location & How to Reach:
Markoth is hidden in Kingdom's Edge. In the large open area to the right, ascend until you find a room with a Shade Gate. Use your Shade Cloak to pass through it.
Battle Strategy:
Markoth is unique because this battle has no floor. You must fight on dream platforms. He wields two shields that orbithim, blocks your attacks, and sporadically spins one outwards. He alsofires homing nails.
- Tip: This is a battle of extreme patience. Prioritize evasion overaggression. Use spells to damage him from a distance when his shieldsare not blocking. This fight is a major skill check.
