Throughout your journey in Grounded 2, you've been relentlessly taunted by a mysterious figure known as the Masked Stranger. After a long and challenging trek through a series of mini-bosses and puzzles, the time for a final confrontation has arrived. This epic boss fight at the end of the first major story segment is a true test of your skills, gear, and preparation. The path to the fight is a gauntlet in itself, designed to ensure you are truly ready for the main event.This guide will prepare you for the ultimate showdown, from the gear you need to the exact strategies that will lead you to victory.

Grounded 2: Beat The Masked Stranger

Preparing for the Fight

Before you even consider facing the Masked Stranger, you need to ensure you are fully prepared. The correct gear and healing items will be the difference between victory and defeat.

Essential Gear and Mutations

• Best-in-Slot Gear: Equip the highest-tier armor and weapons available for your playstyle. Upgrading your gear to the maximum level will significantly increase your survivability and damage output.
• Healing Supplies: Bring a large supply of Granola Bars for quick health regeneration. Also, craft Scorpidote smoothies, which are invaluable for countering the venom you'll encounter from various enemies.
• Crucial Mutations: Equip the Mithridatism and Spicy Safety mutations. Mithridatism will protect you from venom, while Spicy Safety will be your key defense against the Masked Stranger's powerful fire attacks.

The Path to the Masked Stranger

The journey to the boss fight is a difficult one, as you must first navigate the Networking mission.

Locating the Facility: Follow the main story objectives to the northern part of the map. You will eventually find a hidden Ominent Facility located beneath a large statue of Dr. Tully.

The Rose Garden Gauntlet: Your path will take you through the Rose Garden. You'll need to use your parkour skills to navigate the thorny bushes while defeating three powerful mini-bosses along the way:

• Captain Nitro (a Northern Scorpion)
• Lieutenant Blade (a Praying Mantis)
• General Berserker (a Cockroach Queen)

Final Preparations: Once you've defeated the Cockroach Queen and activated the relays,you'll find a report that hints at the true danger of the upcomingfight. Take this as your final warning to prepare for a difficultchallenge.

Defeating the Masked Stranger

The Masked Stranger is a challenging foe with a clear weakness and severaldangerous attacks. The fight has three distinct phases, each requiring a different approach.

Phase One

• Weakness: The Masked Stranger is weak to Fresh damage but has a high resistance to both Venom and Spicy damage. Equip a weapon with Fresh damage to maximize your output.
• Spicy Coaltana: The Stranger wields this sword, and every hit inflicts Sizzle damage. Do not get hit repeatedly, or your Sizzle buildup will increase, causing you to take more damage. The Spicy Safety mutation is your best defense here.
• Ground Attack: The Stranger will occasionally charge up a powerful, ground-based fireattack. The ground will begin to sizzle, giving you a brief window tomove away from the blast radius.

Phase Two

The fight will transition to Phase Two when the Stranger drinks a Liquid Rage smoothie, which completely heals her and makes her attacks moreaggressive. If you are playing with friends, this is a great time tosplit up to avoid being hit by the same attacks. A ranged and a meleecharacter working together is an ideal strategy.

Phase Three

The final phase begins when the Masked Stranger calls upon her pet, Bandit, an O.R.C. Wolf Spider. The Stranger will step back while Bandit attacks. The safest way todefeat Bandit is to constantly circle its legs and rear. This forces the spider to continuously turn, giving you a safe window to attack without being hit by its more powerful attacks.

Once Bandit is defeated, the fight is over.

After your long and arduous battle, you will be rewarded handsomely for your hard work.

• Spicy Coaltana Recipe: You will receive the recipe for the powerful weapon wielded by the Masked Stranger.
• Orb Weaver Buggy: The Orb Weaver Buggy is now unlocked, giving you a new way to travel.
• Ranger Station Upgrade: You will receive a crucial upgrade for your base.
• Loot Bandit: Don't forget to loot Bandit's body. You will receive an O.R.C. Receiver, along with Wolf Spider Chunks, Venom, and Fangs, which are all valuable crafting materials.
