The incredible screen of nothing more and nothing less than Sony 16K resolution will be in Japan.

The Sony 16K super screen, the only one of its kind, 16 times more pixels than a 4K resolution TV and 64 times more than a normal 1080p high definition TV, the level of detail that the Sony display will offer will be amazing.

The screen is bigger than a bus so just imagine how awesome it must be, but do not imagine it like that, imagine it with measurements and everything, 19.2 meters by 5.4 meters of screen.

Sony announces monster 16K display at NAB

The Sony 16K super screen is being installed in a new research center that has been built for the Japanese cosmetics group Shiseido in the city of Yokohama, south of Tokyo, Japan.

Its size will be so impressive that it will have to extend to the second floor of the building.

It was announced by Sony at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) trade show, which is currently being held in Las Vegas.

David Mercer of Strategy Analytics Consulting said:

"We are moving slowly towards 8K TVs at the end of the decade and who knows how long it will take to go beyond that, so it is likely that 16K is limited to the corporate world at the moment."

"But there's no doubt about it, these screens are incredibly impressive in person, even 8K on a big screen is almost fascinating."

"When you reach this resolution, it offers an almost virtual reality experience as your eyes perceive that there is depth to the content."

This project is not something completely new for Sony, some may already remember when Sony designed a separate Sony 16K super screen that was displayed at the Haneda Airport in Tokyo in 2014.

The difference of that opportunity to this new opportunity, is that the 2014 screen seemed to be composed of dozens of smaller screens instead of presenting a single perfect image as they are doing in this opportunity.

Crystal LED much brighter than OLED screens

The new screen is composed of modular panels that have no bezels and can be installed together giving the impression of being a single screen and delivered a cleaner image.

Sony calls the technology "Crystal LED" and does not require backlighting, which is that it is much brighter than OLED screens.

Manufacturing costs make this technology a little harder to use in rudimentary use.

But Sony is launching much smaller screens of LED Crystal technology but with lower resolution for that more general use, offices, auto showrooms, cinemas, etc.

Another detail is the lack of images at a monstrous The Sony 16K resolution, but Sony has produced its own film for Shiseido that shows life-size wild animals.
