A year after the Razer Game Store was opened to the public in April 2018, we see how the digital store closes its doors at the end of February of this year. Razer Game Store offered exclusives and discounts in different accessories for games to its users.

But to the misfortune of its users, it seems that Razer will not continue with its plan of discounts on accessories with the purchase of games. This, then, through the statement that was published through the Razer Game Store itself, the team behind the digital platform reported that they would close this February 28 due to the fact that the company has "realignment plans".

 

Through the FAQ section attached to the previous note, Razer confirmed that the games that have already been downloaded through their services will continue to work even after the store closes, however, the keys purchased but have not been exchanged will have to do so before the 28th of February itself or they will be permanently lost.




On the other hand, the points and the currency of the store, the Razer Silver and Razer Gold respectively, will not be affected by the closure of the Razer Game Store, since their customers will still have the possibility to exchange them for different rewards according to those that have accumulated, besides being able to release content in the Razer Gold catalog.

 

Regarding the latter, Razer added that he will seek to invest in innovative ways through which his users can exchange the Razer Gold, even these plans are not entirely clear.





Although the closure of the digital store could be translated as a stain in the Razer registry, the truth is that it still does not lose contact with its specialty: the game hardware. After the Razer Blade Stealth launched at the end of last year, they released a new Quartz Pink edition of the ultraportable gaming laptop in January of this year.
