The giant Google has decided to enter the market of Cloud Streaming for video games, with its new platform Stadia. Although it is true that similar services already exist, such as Microsoft's xCloud or Nvidia's Geforce Now, Google's Stadia makes its entrance with its distinctive "googleza" as it brings with it some interesting innovations. However, one of these innovations will certainly not be downloading the content.

Google's Stadia was announced this past Wednesday, March 19, in an opening speech at the GDC (Game Developers Conference) 2019. However, this presentation left many doubts, the opportunity to interview Google Vice President Phil Harrison. One of the points touched upon in the interview was the possibility that Google's Stadia would allow downloading its content to be used offline (such as Netflix, for example). To this, Harrison replied that no, Google would not admit such a possibility, arguing that it would compromise the vision of the project. . "No, it's not technically possible," "It would be a commitment of our vision if we had to do that," he said.

The fact that Phil Harrison gave that answer could be because the platform is aimed at giving an experience in diversity of devices such as desktops, smartphones, laptops, tablets and televisions, only through the transmission of data by connection of internet, without any decoder (except for the case with the TV, which would be with a Chromecast Ultra HDMI transmitter) including the possibility of switching between them without affecting the progress or changes.

Also, there is the Stadia Controller, a driver designed by Google for the use of the Stadia service, whose operation is based on the identification of the device to be used to enjoy Stadia and its subsequent link to the user session on the platform (summarizing the process). In turn, the Stadia Controller also has special buttons to save and share content on YouTube, as well as access to the Google Assistant for help and special game data from its developers.

As for other details about Google's Stadia, it is only known that it will be launched this year 2019 in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and much of Europe. In addition to that there are very few games confirmed, currently, among them Doom Eternal and Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Similarly, we have the fact that Google will also develop its own games, exclusive to the Stadia platform, since it announced its own development studio "Stadia Games and Entertainment" headed by Jade Raymond (former Veteran of Ubisoft and EA). Google also mentioned that the details not mentioned were going to be clarified, because in summer they were going to share more information about the Stadia platform.
