How to Get the Free Blade of Champions Pickaxe in Fortnite

The Blade of Champions is a highly sought-after cosmetic item in Fortnite, and for a limited time, players have a chance to earn it through competitive play. This rare pickaxe, part of the FNCS Set, is typically reserved for winners of the Fortnite Champion Series, but a special event, the Blade of Champions Cup, is making it available to a wider group of skilled players.

The Blade of Champions Cup: Event Details

The Blade of Champions Cup is a Duos tournament played in Reload mode and is part of the ongoing Champions Road series of tournaments.3 It's a two-round, fast-paced competition designed as a "Quick Cup" to accommodate a large number of players.

• Round 1: The first round lasts for 45 minutes, during which duos can play up to three matches. Your best match score from these three will determine your placement on the leaderboard. To earn points, you must secure eliminations, with a cap of five eliminations per match counting toward your score.
• Round 2: The top teams from each region advance to the second round, where they are sorted into different groups based on their Round 1 performance. Round 2 also lasts for 45 minutes, with duos playing up to three matches. A high total score in this round is the key to winning the main prizes.

How to Earn the Blade of Champions Pickaxe and Other Rewards

To get the Blade of Champions pickaxe, you must participate in thetournament and place among the top-ranked teams in your regionalleaderboard. Along with the pickaxe, the top teams will also receive the Champion's Blade-Splitter emote.

The number of teams that will receive the pickaxe varies by region:

• Europe (EU): Top 1,000 teams
• North America Central (NAC): Top 800 teams
• Middle East (ME): Top 400 teams
• Brazil (BR): Top 400 teams
• North America West (NAW): Top 400 teams
• Asia (ASIA): Top 200 teams
• Oceania (OCE): Top 200 teams

Even if you don't place high enough to win the pickaxe, you can still earn a reward. Any duo that scores at least 8 points during the competition will receive the Blade of Champions spray.

The Blade of Champions Cup is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Be sure to check the "Compete" tab within the Fortnite in-game menu forthe exact start time in your region. This is a rare opportunity toacquire one of the most prestigious cosmetic items in the game withoutwinning the main FNCS tournament.
