Wolves are hostile creatures that hunt in packs and will attack you until they drain all your health. Boars are usually alone and attack when startled. If the wolf dies, it drops 3 meat and the boar drops 2 meat and 2 mushrooms.
Wild boars like wolves can be found wandering around the map, near forests and farmland. Wild boars can be recognized by their snorts and squeals, and wolves howl together, especially when they see a prey.
To ride an animal, you will have to feed it meat (or products) > which will allow you to access the interaction function to be able to ride it, or you can literally jump on them. This can be accomplished with a straight jump or a jump from a height. When you ride the animal, it will automatically tame itself, so you can run and jump with it.
Just keep in mind that they can get tired and you will have to feed them as before or let them rest. They can also be healed with Chug Splash, in case they get hurt.
You can shoot on board the animal, but this will put it at risk.
