When starting a game, you will see a side vortex on top of a randomly named location. This is represented by a purple and orange colored circle. You can go to them directly by jumping from the battle bus.
In these places you can create small craters in the ground with some red energy inside.
Running on the vent, it works like a jump platform, which will launch you in the direction you are playing, allowing you to manipulate the launch angle if you want to try to escape from another player.
