What Tools Should You Upgrade First in Fields of Mistria?
The strategic approach to upgrading tools is instrumental in effective progression through the fields of Mistria. First on this list of tools for upgrade should be the pickaxe, which is truly multifunctional. Its upgrade improves significantly the mining speed, a critical activity interwoven with the main story line and valuable resource gain, including but not limited to precious gems.
Next in importance to the pickaxe is the axe, whose common product is, of course, wood. It is required in a lot of other things, from healing the land to the expansion of your farm. Since this resource is going to be required throughout the game, it is good to focus on upgrading the axe first and stock up on wood.
The Fishing Rod would be the next step in the chain of resource gathering. A superior rod will let you cast further out into the water. This enables the catching of more fish, essential in trying to complete the different sets for the Museum. This goes well with the Watering Can, used for farming your crops.
The Shovel and Hoe are both tools instrumental in land management, which can be upgraded to suit a player's individual playstyle and farming preference. While they are both critically important tools, it greatly depends on what kind of agriculture you are focusing on.
