  • Own the Dawntrail expansion
  • Must have a level 80 or higher as a Disciple of War or Magic.

  • Own the Dawntrail expansion, as the Viper class is not available within the free trial version of Final Fantasy XIV.

Unlocking the Viper:


  • 1. Travel to Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (X:9.3, Y:9.2) using your preferred teleportation method (Aetheryte).
  • 2. Locate the non-player character (NPC) named "Worrying Weaver" in this area. You will discover this to be Keshkwa, the representative of the Viper job.
  • 3. Initiate conversation with Keshkwa by right-clicking on them and selecting the quest prompt. This will trigger a cutscene and introductory dialogue.
  • 4. Follow Keshkwa to their destination in Camp Drybone, Eastern Thanalan (X:13.3, Y:23.8). Utilize the in-game map or minimap for guidance if necessary.
  • 5. Once at Camp Drybone, interact with Keshkwa once more to complete the quest.

Rewards upon Completion:


  • Soul of the Viper job crystal, granting access to the Viper class.
  • A set of Viper armor and weaponry at item level 515, providing a foundational equipment set for the new job.

Additional Considerations:


  • Due to the Viper class commencing at level 80, leveling another combat class to the aforementioned level is necessary to meet the prerequisite.
  • Dawntrail being the most recent expansion, ensure you have acquired and installed it to access the Viper job.
