How to Get the Machinery Key
Obtaining the Machinery Key
The Machinery Key may take a bit more extra work in getting, but the key will become crucial for the Background Check task in Escape from Tarkov. It can be found in several locations on the map, but there is one guaranteed spawn location.
- Guaranteed Spawn: Room 205 in the three-story dorms building on Customs. Next to the cabinet are two jackets.
- Other Possible Spawns: Any jacket on the map.
Complete the Background Check Task
Upon acquiring the Machinery Key, follow these steps to complete the Background Check task:
- 1. Locate the Fuel Tank: The fuel tank is parked near the Crackhouse and construction area.
- 2. Key Unlocks Door: Machinery Key opens door into fuel tank.
- 3. Pocket Watch: Bronze Pocketwatch is located inside fuel tank on the floor next to pedal.
- 4. Extract: Survive raid and extract from the map with Bronze Pocketwatch in possession.
Additional Tips
- Be Prepared: The area will be infested with other players, since the Machinery Key is one of the hotter keys out there.
- Time of Raid: You might consider running this raid at night to minimize the PMCs and Cultists you run across.
- Alternative Approaches: The Machinery Key may well not be in its guaranteed spawn location because another player might have already been there and got it. You can then wait for him to open the fuel tank and get the Bronze Pocketwatch.
