It gets much more challenging because more PMCs can enter or wait outside the block if you remain there for too long, regardless of how many zombies there are. If you want to save time and avoid wasting it searching for the samples, you should come prepared. Following these steps will allow you to finish the Root Cause job in Escape from Tarkov using any and all virus samples that may spawn.
Escape from Tarkov: How to Complete the Root Cause
In order to complete the Root Cause assignment, you need to accomplish the following goals:
- Virus sample can be found in The Lab; please retrieve it.
- Return the object you retrieved.
- You should be familiar with Labs' containment block by now, as you have been there twice already with this quest line, but fortunately, the virus sample also spawns inside it.
Just in case, you should bring more Zagustins to the same loadout you used to destroy the zombies in the Burn It Down mission. To save space in your inventory, you can bring an Injector Case and place many stims inside.
Potential Sites of Virus Spawning in the Laboratory
You need to hurry to the computer room by the power switch since the virus samples are within the containment block. The spawn location in the computer room can be found on the desk to the right of the monitor or to the left of it, close to the vial case. Once you're inside, find it.
If you can't find them in that spot, try looking in the bottom tray of the freezer off to the side of the room. Within the computer room, you will find all of these spawn points.
The next stop should be the lab over on the left. In the center, you'll find a large desk stocked with various medical devices. Find the vial by looking straight ahead to the center. Feel free to leap onto the desk if that's what you like.
Near the end of the containment block, in the final laboratory room, you'll find the last spawn. Find the table; it's right in the center of the desk, too. As depicted in the aforementioned figure, the sample appears close to the vial container. Assuming all players are part of the same raid, the sample should spawn at the same location for cooperative games.
