One class of attack you can employ when teleporting to the rear of your opponent is a Z Burst Dash. Master and apply this form of attack intelligently to immediately enhance your chances of prevailing in a match.

How to Z Burst Dash and counter it in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero?




With Ki Charge and with Step/Short Dash, both can do Dragon Dashes. Follow up the previous step, Z Burst Dash. The use of a left stick at this point will interrupt your attack, so try to avoid using it in this manner. Classic controls use L2+ X/LT+ A to do Z Burst Dash. On standard control, press R2+X/RT+ X.


Use this opportunity to carry on with more combos that will annihilate your opponent when you successfully pull off a Z Burst Dash. However, you cannot win fights just with the mastery of this attack. Sometimes, you find yourself in the opposite position. Therefore, knowing how to defend against such a devastating attack is very crucial.


Defensive Strategies for Z Blast Dash in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero



In Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, Z Burst Dash generally comes from the left side. Doing a perception or super perception would be the better move to dodge the action. First, turn left, and press:


For perception:



  • Standard, R1/RB; Classic, O/B.
  • With the enhanced vision using O/B in case of Standard or O + Triangle/ B + Y 

In case of Classic:

  • Triangle+Circle/Y+B button. This will be a good strategy when competing with the Z Burst Dash-what's called hyper perception. One skill point will be used up, though.


More particular strategies to assault the Z Burst Dash:


  • Hop: Left to right for standard; right to left for classic
  • Sidestep: In order to do a sidestep, you must switch between Standard and Classic by pulling the left stick right or left and then hitting X or A in one swift motion.
  • Sway Step: After a sidestep, press R1/RB for Standard or O/B for Classic.
  • Instant Transmission: Square + X for Standard and Classic

Keep in mind, too, that none of the counters save for perception and super perception are very good. You can be in a heap of danger with another counterattack, provided your opponent is fast enough. Once you've dodged the Z Burst Dash, you have this very short window to either hit a damaging combo or enable Sparking Mode in order to end the match once and for all.
