Dragon Age: The Quest of the Unwanted Guests When you don't know what you're doing, the Veilguard quest can be extremely frustrating. In addition to battling the tenacious Venatori, you'll have to figure out a few of tricky puzzles with very little in the way of clues.

How to complete Unwanted Guests quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard?

To Veil Jumper Camp, meet up with both Irelin and Strife.
Converse with both Strife and Irelin at Veil Jumper Camp to understand the threat of the Venatori and start the quest.

Go to Shadowy Grove via the direction of the quest marker.

Continue along Sanctum Overlook and Ruins as directed by your marker. Continue until you reach Shadowy Grove. You will encounter a group of Venatori there.
Venatori resist Fire, yet they seem to be easily strung up by Cold. Make your fight easier by equipping or preparing skills accordingly.
Once defeated, search around their camp for any clues. You will need to find a small note in order to progress on your way of locating the Dalish camp.

Across Tattered Bridge to Reach Dalish Camp

Cross over the tattered bridge and head towards the Nameless Building. You can quick travel.
Head to the Mystical Tower to witness more Venatori, defeat them, and free the area.
Speak with a Veil Jumper named Galadar after defeating them; he will tell you the location of where the Dalish captive is held.

First Puzzle: Clearing the Blockage

Line them up so you can pass through.
You must figure out how to activate a series of pedestals in order to gain access to the prisoner. The barrier opens when you correctly activate the pedestals.

Stand at the door and orient your head inward, toward the middle of the room.

Step on pedestals at the following positions:

Second pedestal from left, as you enter the room.
Fifth pedestal from left, as you enter the room.
Pedestral number four from left of the door

With each successful activation, it will generate a sound as if coins are jingling. Once you're done, the barrier will lift, opening your path leading to the Ransacked Camp to meet other Venatori.

The Discordant Situation Solution

Just head down the beach, looking for a broken bridge. Find a container, nearby, which can house a power crystal.
Turn right down the coastal path at the waterfall and follow it to the bottom. There should be a power crystal nestled under a rock near the waterfall. It goes in the container to repair the bridge.
Through the red door and into the Reconstructed Ruins you'll find more Venatori.
There's a large intimidating group of Venatori here. Using spells or abilities that have an area of impact will make managing them incredibly easy.
The second puzzle, after killing all the Venatori, requires using symbol locks to open up a door.
The last challenge the prisoner has to master is a symbol puzzle he has to solve to turn off a barrier. I show how to fix it, as it's actually pretty straightforward:

Standing at the entrance of the room, facing the blue barrier, you can see three of the four required symbols above the door, while the fourth one is shattered, lying on the floor.

Turn on the symbols in this order:

Sign is just to right of the entry with the blue shield in it.
First sign is to left of door
Second symbol is in doorway to right
Marker is at a right angle to the blue security door on your left.
The barrier goes away after you have done the correct pattern, now you can free the Dalish hostage.

Gather Strife and Irelin together.

You can head back to the entrance of the ruins where you released a prisoner to examine a couple of supply chests and a dead Venatori. This will provide an update so you're able to speak with Strife and Irelin who have just arrived.
