Where to Find Banandium Chip Exchanges in Donkey Kong Bananza

In Donkey Kong Bananaza, the primary objective is to collect Banandium Gems (often simply referred to as Bananas) as you journey towards the planet's core. While the majority of these crucial collectibles are earned by exploring, digging through sub-layers, and solving puzzles, you can also acquire them by exchanging your Banandium Chips. However, this isn't a readily available option at all times; you need to find a specific Banandium Chip Exchange location.

Donkey Kong Bananza: Find Banandium Chip Exchanges

Banandium Chip exchanges are not found on every sub-layer, making their locations important to remember.First Chip Exchange Location:

• The very first Banandium Chip exchange you'll encounter is located on sub-layer (SL) 200, within the Hilltop Layer.
• Upon entering this area, look to the left side of the screen. You'll find a cluster of three shops.
• The Chip Exchange is the middle of these three shops. It is easily identifiable by its distinct icon: a blue hexagonal shape with a yellow circle in its center.

How to Exchange Chips for Gems:

Interact with the NPC: Approach and interact with the NPC at the Chip Exchange.

Initiate Exchange: You will be presented with the option to exchange your Banandium Chips and Gold for a Banandium Gem.

Cost: Initially, the exchange will cost you 10 Banandium Chips and 100 Gold for one Banandium Gem.

Confirm: Agree to the exchange, and the Banandium Gem will be added to your inventory.

Important Exchange Details:

• Increasing Cost: Be aware that if you continue to exchange chips for gems at the same Chip Exchange location, the amount of chips and gold required for each subsequent trade will increase.
• Collectible Count: Only the very first Banandium Gem you acquire from a Chip Exchange within a specific layer will count towards that layer's completion percentage. Any additional gems you obtain from that same exchange location will still contribute to your overall Banandium Gem total and can be spent on skill points, but they will not add to the layer's specific collectible count on the map.
• Fast Travel for Convenience: If you accumulate a significant amount of Banandium Chips and want to convert them into gems for skill points, you don't have to wait until you find another Chip Exchange in a later layer. You can always utilize the game's fast travel option (with the assistance of the mother eel and warp gong) to quickly return to SL 200 in the Hilltop Layer.
• Respec Option: As a reminder, if you're looking to optimize your skill point allocation without needing new gems, you can also respec your existing skill points by finding an Elder (as detailed in previous discussions).

How to Get Banandium Chips in Donkey Kong Bananaza

Banandium Chips are a less common currency than gold, but they are essential for obtaining additional Banandium Gems.

• Appearance: Banandium Chips are small, white hexagonal tokens with a gold ridge and a distinctive pink 'sparkle' icon in their center.
• Sources: You can obtain Banandium Chips from various in-game activities:
  • Mining the Earth: Digging through the environment is a primary source.
  • Smashing Boxes: Destroying crates and other destructible objects.
  • Defeating Enemies: Enemies will sometimes drop Banandium Chips upon defeat.
  • Opening Buried Chests: These often contain a good amount of chips.
• Most Lucrative Sources: Based on player experience, continuously mining the earth and defeating enemies tend to be the most lucrative and consistent ways to accumulate Banandium Chips.
• Tracking Your Chips: You can always see your current Banandium Chip count displayed in the top right corner of your screen. It is typically the second number listed, appearing directly below your current gold total.
