Donkey Kong Bananza is designed to be a significant collectible hunt, butthankfully, collecting everything is not required to complete the mainstory.

• Banandium Gems (Bananas):
  • There are a total of 777 Banandium Gems to find across all layers.
  • Most can be obtained during a regular playthrough, but some are specifically locked until the post-game (after finishing the main story).
  • These gems are crucial for powering up Donkey Kong and acquiring Skill Points to invest in his Skill Tree, bolstering abilities and Bananza Modetransformations.
• Fossils:
  • There are just shy of 700 Fossils to dig up in total, with the exact number being 696.
  • Most layers contain at least 30 fossils, while larger layers can have up to 72.
  • Fossils are used as currency at Style Shops within each layer to purchase andupgrade unique outfits for DK and Pauline, which offer various perks.Each Style Shop only accepts fossils found in that specific layer.
  • Fossils come in three rarities: Common (blue), Rare (red), and Ultra-Rare (gold).

Tips for Finding Collectibles:

• Treasure Maps: Players can dig up treasure maps that pinpoint the location of hidden Banandium Gems and Fossils.
• DK's Sonar Ability (Hand Slap): Donkey Kong's Hand Slap ability doubles as a sonar, highlighting hidden objects (including Banandium Gems, Fossils, and Challenge Entrances)through solid terrain. This ability can be upgraded to increase itsrange.
• Treasure Tie: An equippable item for DK (found in the Lagoon Layer Style Shop) can be leveled up with Fossils to increase the chance of treasure chestsspawning when smashing terrain. These chests often contain maps.
