After registering in Zamina, you will have to select Extract to start and you will be able to select the legendary item from which you want to extract the essence. Extraction works best when you have a legendary item with decent stats that you don't want to use. These stats can be passed on to another item.

You will need to use 3,000 gold to extract the essence, plus some ingredients depending on the piece of equipment usually found throughout the game.
