In Destiny 2, the iron Banner event will begin in the Opulence Season this June 18. This event also brings some changes, among which is the possibility of getting the armor of the iron standard, different from the traditional way. However the developer Bongie has not yet given many details about it, but some vague details have been mentioned as to how to get an armor of the iron standard.

How to get an Iron Banner Armor
In Destiny 2, players can usually get the Iron Banner Armor through Iron Banner earned for match rewards or the direct purchase from Lord Saladin. However, for this Season of Opulence, the players of Destiny 2 will be able to get an armor by completing the search for the Iron Banner.
Regarding the specific details regarding how players can complete the event they are not revealed yet. However, armor pieces are associated with specific steps of the mission. This means that for each mission step the players complete, they will get a piece of armor as a reward. Therefore, to get the complete armor it is important to finish the Iron Banner mission that includes in this Season of Opulence of Destiny 2.
When the players manage to unlock the piece of armor, it is going to be added to a group of Iron Banner loot. This will provide the possibility of recovering the armor through reputation packages as well as later rewards. However, the direct purchase of the armor from Lord Saladin will not be available, given that the way to acquire the armor will be replaced by the Iron Banner mission.
On the other hand, in Destiny 2 players will still have the possibility of unlocking several elements when completing several objectives during the Opulence Season. Among these elements are weapons, emblems, among others. This means that the means to get the armor through the Iron Banner only applies to the armor set.
