How to unlock Tempest in Delta Force

Tempest, real name Clair Ann Byers, is the newest operator to join the roster in TiMi Studio Group's tactical shooter Delta Force, debuting with Season 5: Break, which launched on July 9, 2025. She is the first character from the mysterious Haavk faction and brings a highly aggressive, yet survivable, playstyle to the Assault class. Tempest enters the fray alongside the new special weapon, the Compound Bow, usable by both Recon and Assault units.

Unlocking Tempest in Delta Force

Unlocking Tempest is straightforward and accessible to all players, regardless of whether they purchase the premium battle pass.

• Season Pass Free Tier: Tempest is unlocked at level 15 of the free access tier of the Season 5: Break Battle Pass.
• Gameplay Progression: To progress the season pass, simply play any of the game modes, including Warfare (PvP) and Operations (PvE extraction shooter), excluding Battle Practice. Earning XP by performing well in matches (e.g., high score in Warfare, successful extractions and kills in Operations) will level up your pass.

This method of unlocking the newest operator via the free track of the season pass has been a consistent pattern in Delta Force for a few seasons. Older operators from previous seasons, like Nox, who were once available on the free track, are now typically recruited by completing specific challenge lists (e.g., completing two out of three challenges).

Abilities of Tempest in Delta Force

Tempest's kit emphasizes high mobility, disruption, and self-sustain, making herideal for aggressive pushes and flanking maneuvers.

• Ultimate Gadget: Emergency Evasion Device
  • Functionality: Inspired by Attack on Titan's ODM gear, Tempest deploys a safety rope to secure an anchor point. Upon reactivation (pressing the ability button again) or getting downed/receiving fatal damage, she is rapidly pulled back to that anchor point.
  • Strategic Use: This allows for extremely aggressive positioning, as she can quickly disengage or save herself from precarious situations.
  • Special Quirks:
    • Operations Mode: If downed in Operations, Tempest can activate her auxiliary spine to discharge a defibrillation burst, reviving herself once. This is a powerful self-sustain tool in PvE.
    • Warfare Mode: When being pulled back by her evasion device, Tempest can temporarily resist damage that exceeds her normal health pool, providing a brief window of invulnerability during her retreat. The safety rope will also go into a suspended state if Tempest falls a certain distance.
• Tactical Gear: Drill Charge
  • Functionality: Tempest throws a small drill that can bust through hardened walls and surfaces.
  • Effect: After penetrating, it electrocutes opponents on the other side through cover, disarming them (knocking their weapons from their hands) and temporarily paralyzing them.
  • Strategic Use: Excellent for breaching, denying cover, and initiating pushes bydisrupting entrenched enemies. It also works on AI enemies inOperations.
• Movement Ability: Combat Roll
  • Functionality: Upon activation, Tempest can perform a quick roll in any direction.
  • Cooldown Reduction: Similar to Vyron's ability, knocking down enemies decreases the cooldown of this movement ability, encouraging aggressive plays.
  • Additional Benefit: It can negate fall damage when used mid-air or just before landing, useful on vertical maps like Tide Prison.
• Passive Ability: Auxiliary Surge Spine
  • Functionality: This ability activates when Tempest is close to bullets and explosions. It releases electric currents that supercharge her core muscles.
  • Effect: It temporarily boosts her sprint and swimming speed when under pressure. When not under pressure, it passively increases her swimming speed.
  • Strategic Use: Enhances her already high mobility, allowing for faster flanks,rotations, and escapes, especially in aquatic environments introduced in Season 5.
