Wood in the game is obtained by cutting trees, although initially it will be a scarce resource and near the middle of the game it becomes more complicated to collect. If you want to get an early advantage, we recommend cutting all the trees you find in the dungeons, since in each dungeon there are sections dedicated to wood.

You will have to continue with this strategy until you reach Level II in Divine Inspiration.

When you reach this level, you will be able to access the Lumberyard and the Missionary. The Lumberyard is the main source of wood, while the missionary will help you to gather the necessary wood that can reach the sawmill.

It will be necessary to send a very devoted follower to return with goods, so choose wisely. You can also cut some POIs like the trees in Lonely Shack or Pilgrim's Passage and training dummies before any Crusade.
