In the intriguing world of Clair Obscur Expedition 33, players will encounter Monoco's Station, a hub populated by the friendly Grandis despite Monoco being a Gestral. Among these amiable beings resides a Grandis merchant with a specific request: an Eternal Ice in exchange for a fresh assortment of tradeable goods. This guide will walk you through the precise steps to acquire this valuable item and unlock the merchant's expanded inventory.

The Quest for Eternal Ice: Navigating Frozen Hearts


To obtain the coveted Eternal Ice, your journey will lead you to the perilous Frozen Hearts in Expedition 33. Your target: the formidable Gargant boss. Here's a detailed breakdown of the path:
  • Departure from Monoco's Station: Begin by exiting Monoco's Station through the back door.
  • Eastward Journey: Head east, venturing past the whimsical Carousel, until you reach the chilling expanse of the Frozen Hearts.
  • Entering Frozen Hearts: Upon entering this icy domain, your first landmark will be a Rest Point flag.
  • The Left Path and the Cave: From the Rest Point, keep to the left side of the area. You should soon encounter a Pelerin enemy. Continue along this left path, and you'll discover a cave entrance.
  • Ziplining to Glacial Falls: Traverse the cave until you spot a shimmering golden thread. Interact with it to zip up and emerge outside at the Glacial Falls Rest Point flag.
  • Another Golden Thread: From the Glacial Falls flag, look ahead. Another golden thread should be visible, positioned near two fiery Fire enemies.
  • Ascending to the Fire Danseuse: Utilize the second golden thread to ascend to a new area guarded by two agile Fire Danseuse enemies.
  • Grappling Across: Proceed past these enemies, and you'll find a grappling point. Use it to swing across to the other side.
  • Climbing the Cliffside: At the end of this path, you'll notice climbing steps etched into the cliffside. Ascend these steps.
  • The Station-like Entrance: At the top, you'll encounter an entrance resembling a station. Be aware that climbing to the right here will lead you on a detour, although it eventually loops back to the Glacial Falls area.
  • Entering the Iced Heart Station: Enter the station, and you'll quickly come across another Rest Point flag named Iced Heart.
  • Ascending the Train Wreck: From the Iced Heart Rest Point, make your way up using the wreckage of a train. Continue grappling upwards to reach the summit.
  • Confronting the Gargant at the Icebound Terminal: The peak of Frozen Hearts is the Icebound Terminal. Here, you will face the Gargant boss. Defeat this formidable foe to claim your reward: the Eternal Ice.

    • Upon vanquishing the Gargant, you will also receive the following valuable items:
    • Grandiose Chroma Catalyst x3
    • Anti-Burn Pictos
    • Snowim Weapon

    Mastering the Gargant: A Battle of Elements


    The Gargant is a unique opponent with two distinct combat stances: Ice andFire. Understanding these stances is crucial for victory:


    • Ice Stance: In its Ice stance, the Gargant will absorb Ice attacks, healing itself from them. Conversely, it is vulnerable to Fire attacks.
    • Fire Stance: When in its Fire stance, the Gargant will absorb Fire attacks and exhibit a weakness to Ice attacks.


    Strategically exploiting these elemental weaknesses is key to defeating the Gargant.Hitting the Ice-stance Gargant with Fire will force it into its Firestance, and attacking the Fire-stance Gargant with Ice will switch itback to its Ice stance. Utilize this elemental dance to your advantage.

    Trading Eternal Ice: Unlocking the Grandis Merchant's Treasures


    Once you have successfully acquired the Eternal Ice, return to Monoco'sStation. Locate the Grandis Merchant, who can be found near thestation's entrance. Speak to this merchant and present the Eternal Ice.In exchange for this rare item, the Grandis will unlock a wider array of goods in their inventory, including valuable resources and equipmentsuch as:


    • Pictos: Various Pictos with different effects.
    • Survivor: Likely a survival-related item or buff.
    • Energising Death: An item or skill related to energy and defeating enemies.
    • Greater Rush: Possibly an item that grants a significant speed boost.
    • Burning Shots: Ammunition or an ability that deals fire damage.
    • Weapons: New weapons to enhance your combat capabilities, including:
      • Grandaro
      • Cultam
      • Coldum
