Borderlands 4: How to Get SDU Tokens
With the open-world design of Borderlands 4, a new currency has been introduced to help players upgrade their character and equipment: SDU Tokens. These tokens are essential for expanding your backpack, bank, and lost loot storage, as well as increasing the ammo capacity for all of your favorite weapon types.Unlike previous games where you would spend money on upgrades at a specific vendor, SDU Tokens are a separate currency earned through completing various side activities and collectibles across the world of Kairos.How to Get SDU Tokens in Borderlands 4
The world of Kairos is filled with optional objectives, each offering a specific amount of SDU Tokens. Completing all of them is the fastest way to max out your character's storage and ammo capacity. Here is a breakdown of all the activities that provide SDU Tokens:1. Claiming Safehouses
- Number of Safehouses: 14
- SDU Tokens per Safehouse: 40
- How to Complete: Safehouses are small outposts guarded by enemies. To claim them, you must defeat all enemies in the area, find a Datapad, and then use the command console to secure the location. Safehouses also become new fast-travel points.
2. Capturing Order Silos
- Number of Silos: 9
- SDU Tokens per Silo: 40
- How to Complete: Similar to Safehouses, Order Silos are guarded enemy outposts that you can claim for yourself. Upon capturing them, you earn a large amount of SDU Tokens and unlock a grapple point that allows you to reach a new vantage point to find other collectibles.
3. Defeating Bosses at Abandoned Auger Mines
- Number of Mines: 7
- SDU Tokens per Mine: 40
- How to Complete: Auger Mines are infested with mutated wildlife. You must fight your way through the mine until you reach and defeat a powerful boss at the end, which will reward you with SDU Tokens.
4. Clearing Order Bunkers
- Number of Bunkers: 6
- SDU Tokens per Bunker: 40
- How to Complete: Order Bunkers are shielded fortresses. To enter, you must find a Locust Canister and throw it at the shielded door. Once inside, you mustdefeat waves of Order enemies and a final boss to complete the activityand earn your prize.
5. Taking Out Ripper Drill Sites
- Number of Drill Sites: 6
- SDU Tokens per Site: 40
- How to Complete: Drill Sites are unique enemy camps. You must survive an initialonslaught of enemies, and upon defeating them all, a more powerful bosswill emerge. Defeat the boss to complete the activity and earn yourreward.
6. Hacking Ancient Crawlers
- Number of Crawlers: 10
- SDU Tokens per Crawler: 40
- How to Complete: These are giant, abandoned vehicles used as enemy outposts. Theobjective is to climb to the very top and hack the vehicle's centralconsole.
7. Hacking Propaganda Speakers
- Number of Speakers: 27
- SDU Tokens per Speaker: 20
- How to Complete: Propaganda Speakers are scattered across the world, broadcasting theTimekeeper's voice. You can detect them by listening for their sound and locate them on your map. You must protect your ECHO-4 while it hacksthe speaker, which will spawn waves of enemies at 25%, 50%, and 75%progress. After all waves are defeated, the hack is complete, and youget your tokens.
8. Delivering Lost Capsules
- Number of Capsules: 20
- SDU Tokens per Capsule: 15
- How to Complete: Lost Capsules are loot containers found throughout the world. Afterpicking one up, you must carry it back to a nearby Safehouse to get your reward. You cannot use a vehicle while carrying a capsule.
9. Collecting Evocarium Orbs
- Number of Evocariums: 18
- SDU Tokens per Evocarium: 15
- How to Complete: These are glowing devices that, when activated, reveal glowing lines on the ground. You must follow the lines to find and collect a series ofgolden orbs, which you then return to the central pillar.
10. Cracking Electi Safes
- Number of Safes: 13
- SDU Tokens per Safe: 10
- How to Complete: These small safes can be found in various locations. Simply interactwith them to open them and get a small reward of SDU Tokens and loot.
11. Investigating Vault Symbols
- Number of Symbols: 46
- SDU Tokens per Symbol: 5
- How to Complete: Vault Symbols are the smallest collectible in the game. They are hidden throughout the world and on specific missions. Interacting with onegrants a small amount of SDU Tokens.
By completing these activities, you will earn a substantial number of SDUTokens, allowing you to fully upgrade your character and be prepared for the challenges of the endgame.
