How to Get the Whack-A-Crab Free Perk
Getting Inside Crab Island
- 1. Getting a Boat: First thing, a player needs to find a boat to get across the southern island of Terminus also known as Crab Island.
- 2. Finding the Cage with Crab Inside: Move toward the middle rock formation once on the island and look up toward the tree line to find a cage containing a crab suspended in the trees.
- 3. Destroy Cage: Using any explosive, destroy the crab cage to unlock the Whack-a-Crab mini game.
Whack-a-Crab Minigame Rewards
Once the cage of crabs is destroyed, numerous Whack-a-Crab mini-games will be triggered on Crab Island. Each of the mini-games rewards something different:
1. Free Perk:
- Go to the area where crabs spawn, a little below where the crab cage fell.
- Melee an incoming crab to activate the mini game.
- Successfully hit as many crabs as possible within 30 seconds to receive a random Perk-a-Cola, which will enable you to equip an extra perk.
2. Free Essence:
- Head towards the crab spawn point, which is near the Armor Wall-Buy and left of the island.
- Melee a crab to initiate the mini-game.
- Successfully hit crabs for a bundle of Essence canisters to give a really good point boost.
3. Free Weapon:
- Find the crab spawn near the Armor Wall-Buy, which will be hugging the left rock wall.
- Melee an attacking crab to activate this minigame.
- The amount of crabs the player can hit will dictate the rarity of the rewarded weapon, from green to orange.
4. Free Salvage:
- Located near a Crafting Bench, this crab spawn is on a circular rock formation.
- Melee attack one of the crabs to activate the mini-game.
- Hitting the crabs successfully rewards a ton of Salvage that can be used for upgrading weapons and unlocking new gear.

- Quick Reflexes: The quicker you react to random spawning, the higher the score you can achieve.
- Weapon Choice: High firing rates through SMGs or pistols are your go-to in efficiently taking out multiple crabs.
