This incredible Easter egg has garnered fantastic responses from Zombies YouTubers such as MrRoflWaffles, and it's easy to see why. For the first time in Call of Duty Zombies mode, Citadelle des Morts introduces a captivating side story focused on a particular member of the crew. Maya Aguinaldo. Maya has aligned herself with the former Requiem leaders in their mission to take down Dr. Edward Richtofen and liberate Samantha Maxis from the Dark Aether, but she harbors her own hidden agenda.
From the moment the Terminus Easter egg was unveiled, Call of Duty Zombies enthusiasts could feel that the new character, Maya, was driven by a thirst for vengeance. Following the devastating experiments and the tragic loss of her brother Nathan, Maya is on a relentless quest for vengeance. In this hidden Easter egg on Citadelle des Morts, she embarks on a brief quest to seek revenge on Franco. He is a notorious French crime lord who betrayed her brother to Project Janus and is deeply entangled in sinister dealings with Dr. Richtofen.
Mastering Maya’s Side Quest in Citadelle des Morts
Maya's quest for revenge against Franco is a personal journey. To uncover this Easter egg, players must take on the role of her Operator in the game. The scene unfolds in the dining hall of Citadelle des Morts castle. Players are sure to identify this as the chamber featuring the four notorious knight statues and the Vulture Aid Perk. Close to the perk, players will discover a radio. Engaging with the radio initiates a conversation with Franco, during which Maya cleverly deceives him into believing she’s a member of his French Syndicate, arriving to save him. He will open the door, allowing entry through interaction.
Step through this door to reveal a concealed challenge room waiting for you. This hidden section of the map is tightly confined as Maya navigates the narrow hallways of the castle, determined to reach Franco. Prepare for her journey of vengeance, where foes lurk in every corner. Ensure you're well-equipped with weapon upgrades, ample ammunition, and sturdy armor.
In this narrow hallway, players will encounter a swarm of vermin, along with a variety of the new Doppleghast foes. Upon their defeat, the Doppleghast will yield a key. Grab this key and head to the gate located at the end of the corridor. After opening it, take the path downwards and make your way to Franco. A cutscene will be triggered by this action.
Once the event concludes, players will find themselves teleported back to the Vulture Aid room, where a treasure trove awaits them, including a coveted Legendary GS45. This quest is definitely worth your time, even if you’ve already experienced the cutscene. The loot is exceptional, as this handgun can be transformed into an explosive pistol through Pack-a-Punch, making it one of the top weapons in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
