This is one of the mechanics that you will have to know how to master in the game and it consists of holding your breath in order to better aim with the sniper scope zoom. This mechanic will require you to know how to hold  breath with a sniper, in order to have a better chance of making an accurate shot.

How to hold breath with a sniper in Battlefield 2042?

Whenever you use a sniper rifle and DMR, you may notice that when you zoom out the scope will swing, this happens because the game seeks to create a breathing effect at that moment. This is very important, because in real life, snipers and other accurate shooters have to hold their breath before shooting to avoid mistakes just like in the game.Now, in order to achieve this in the game, you will have to consider the Hold Breath button, which by default is the Shift key on PC, Down on the D-pad for Xbox and the L3 button on the PlayStation, the same with which the sprint is controlled.

Holding down this button will pause the swing for a couple of seconds, but it "reloads" after several seconds so you can use it again.

If you have the "Sniper" field upgrade, the duration will double and you will receive double the time to line up the shot.
