What is the Totem of Defiance?

The Totem of Defiance, also known as the Schemer's Offering, provides the following buffs when its fragments are combined at your Party Camp:

• Furious Frenzy: Second Wind casts Flurry of Blows. Unleashes a rapid series of attacks.
• The Slave’s Patience: +2 Constitution, +2 Dexterity. Increases your health and agility.
• Hidden Hatred: Increases damage against unaware enemies by 25%. Ideal for stealth approaches.
• Kill the Master: Increases damage against "skull" enemies. These are typically stronger, elite enemies.
• Bitter Thoughts: Critical Hits deal high Poison Accumulation. Adds a potent damage-over-time effect.
• A Vengeful Victim: After taking damage, your next attack within 10 seconds deals +20% of the original damage received. Stacks with Retribution. Turn enemy attacks into powerful counterattacks.

Each buff is tied to a specific fragment.

Avowed: All The Schemer’s Offering Totem Fragments

Finding The Schemer's Offering Totem Core

The Totem Core, which you need to place the fragments, is located at the Shrine to Skaen. This shrine is directly north of The Delemgan Glade fast travel point. Climb to the very top of the tower to collect The Schemer's Offering Totem Core. Be sure to explore the tower on your way up for additional loot, including potions and crafting materials.

Placing the Totem and Adding Fragments

Once you have the Totem Core, travel toany camp location. Look for the small pile of rocks with candles at itsbase. With the Totem Core in your inventory, an interact prompt willappear. This will allow you to place the Totem Core on the designatedspot, which is the second lowest of the pillars.

Whenever you find another fragment for the Totem, return to camp and interactwith the Totem Core to add the fragment and receive its associated buff.

All Emerald Stair Totem Fragments, Locations

Here's a breakdown of each fragment, its clue, location, and the buff it provides:

• Sacrificial Dagger
  • Clue: "Left alone in fallow fields, this ritual blade thirsts for skin freshly peeled."
  • Location: Abandoned Farms, pinned to the back of the largest building. This farmis located in the north of the map, north of Fior mes Iverno. Look forthe three buildings on the right-hand side. The Sacrificial Dagger willbe pinning a note to the back wall of the largest building.
• Idol of Covert Plots
  • Clue: "In a place of worship amidst moldering rot, this idol continues to scheme and plot."
  • Location: Ruined church east of the Infested Camp, beneath a statue. The Infested Camp is west of the Grim Wetlands Party Camp and north of the PlateauJunction Beacon, near the Sunken Village. Clear the camp of enemies,then follow the cliff edge east to a broken bridge. Jump across to theroof of a locked building (the ruined church). Work your way down to the ground floor. The Idol of Covert Plots is at a shrine opposite the main doors.
• Idol of Secret Hatred
  • Clue: "In a damp hollow its sibling waits full of rage, while its previous owner decays with age."
  • Location: Ancient Grotto, right of the entrance. The Ancient Grotto is also where Old Nuna is located (a bounty target). Enter the grotto, climb thefirst ledge, and look for a narrow passage on the right. Crouch to enter and follow it to a hidden opening with a skeleton and the Idol ofSecret Hatred.
• Idol of Violent Rebellion
  • Clue: "From on high the third surveys the land, sewing the seeds of revolt near at hand."
  • Location: Ranger Headquarters, top of the tower. This tower is easily spotted and accessed at the Ranger Headquarters. Use the ladders, ledges, andclimbable surfaces to reach the top.
• Obsidian Prayer Beads
  • Clue: "In a verdant glade where old ruins crumble, you will find beads dark and umbral."
  • Location: The Delemgan Glade, on a ledge accessed by climbing a fallen tree. On a path down the right side of the Delemgan Glade, climb a fallen treeleading to a rock face. Head left. A large rock sticks out opposite aflat wall. Jump across and find the beads on a corpse.
• Effigy Necklace
  • Clue: "Hidden in ruins of heathens long gone, the octet of skulls sings its silent song."
  • Location: Depths of Naku Tedek, in a flooded room, behind a large log (requirescreating an ice platform). In the flooded room, create an ice platformusing ice damage or an Eye of Rymrgand. Jump onto the log, follow it tothe end, turn right, and find the Effigy Necklace near a locked chest(requires three lockpicks) and a Fine Dagger.
