Guide to learn how to get Abilities in Assassin's Creed Valhalla

You may be very familiar with the gameplay in previous installments like Origins and Odyssey, but let me tell you that this is not the case at all as it turns out that certain things changed for Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

You will have to learn the basic Abilities on your own by doing combat, exploring and finding certain elements that will lead you to unlock specific Abilities. There is a skill tree in the game, but it is primarily used to increase your stats and gain passive abilities such as the ability to wield two two-handed weapons or kill powerful enemies with a single shot. If you are not sure how to get the Abilities that the game brings to you, do not worry that in this guide we will help you find them.

To get more Abilities, you need to find knowledge books scattered around the world. Each book contains a specific skill and they are all well hidden. Knowledge books can normally be found behind closed doors in towns or inside buildings and caves in Raid locations.

When you're close to one, you can see it on your compass. Like wealth and other loot, they are marked with gold icons. Its specific icon is shaped (ironically) like a book.

You should know that each book will teach you a specific skill so you cannot choose as well as which one to learn, you will have to look for them in specific areas. For example, the Book of Hidden Knowledge in Notfall in the Rygafylke region of Norway contains the Throwing Ax Fury ability. Stay tuned as you explore new areas and discuss raids with your crew and you are sure to find some Abilities.

Make sure to collect as many as you can in Norway during the first few hours of the game, as you won't be able to return to the starting area for quite some time after advancing further through the story.

Now that you know how to get Abilities in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, you will know how to focus properly in the search for the books to learn new special Abilities that will benefit you in the game. Luck!
