Since the game's launch, TiMi Studios' Age of Empires Mobile servers have been stormed by a huge amount of players. However, some players are not satisfied with their current in-game surroundings and wish to transfer to another map just so they could play the game with their friends. For this, the inflated interest has become a nuisance for them. You might know that the game doesn't allow teaming up or even attacking unless both parties are playing on the same server.

Currently, there is no sure way of transferring data in Age of Empires Mobile. However, there is a workaround that helps you join your friends who play on other servers. The developers have not assured anything on the matter, and it is highly doubtful that they will ever provide this feature.

How to Change Server in Age of Empires Mobile?

In the top left of the screen you should see your profile picture.
Under Governor Info, bottom left, click Settings.
Find "Characters."
Find "Create" under the "Character Management" main menu.
Click "Confirm" after selecting the new server.

Only servers displaying a green thumbs-up icon are available to join. Any server displaying a red dot in the title is currently at capacity and unable to take on additional players. You will want to keep an eye on the servers you're wanting to be part of because if any players cancel accounts on that server, it will be your chance to join.

The New Server: How to Invite Friends

Once you've completed switching servers, you will be able to find friends either by their name or through their Governor Account number. To do this, go to the Inventory menu and select "Friends." Then tap the "Add Friend" option from the bottom navigation bar.

You will also be able to join new Alliances on the server.

Switching Servers: Can I Move My Citadel?

Sadly, you can't transfer your present Citadel in Age of Empires Mobile onto another server. Every time you want to shift to other maps, you have to create a new character and start everything over.

You won't, however, be able to switch servers with no loss of the progress that you have made on any one account. In Age of Empires Mobile, several accounts may be used across multiple servers. The use of the main account is also allowed, being on a different server, to be able to play with friends; you can just make a secondary account.

Also, players in Discord have been nagging the game developers to allow Account Transfers within the game. Up till now, nothing has been said by the studio, and all such requests have fallen on deaf ears.

How is Moving different from changing a server?

Its data transfer happens on the same server. The relocation ticket that is given for all players at the start for a limited time can be used to relocate your Citadel in another region on the same server. This Targeted Relocator ticket is found in your inventory under the Other tab. But with different servers, it's a new game with different players and a different map.

That's right; you will have to finish the campaign until Chapter 7 to get access to the time-limited Targeted Relocator.

In this sense, knowing How to Change Server in Age of Empires Mobile, allows you to make modifications to continue enjoying the game normally.
