In DoubleMoose Games' roguelite title Abyssus, players descend into a submerged kingdom as Brinehunters, exploring a series of increasingly challenging levels. Along the way, you'll discover and unlock new weapons that not only make future runs easier but also introduce unique gameplay possibilities. While some weapons are acquired through standard progression, others, like the powerful Disc Thrower (The Sharp Weapon), require a bit of extra effort to obtain.The Disc Thrower is widely regarded as one of the most powerful weapons in the game, but its unique mechanics can be a bit overwhelming for new players. Instead of firing a standard projectile, this weapon launches a series of razor-sharp discs that automatically return to the player after hitting an enemy. This boomerang-like behavior can be mastered to hit multiple targets in a single throw, and its potential for chaos is amplified by enhancements that can add lightning arcs or explosions to each disc. The weapon's secondary mod takes this even further, allowing you to fire three discs at once, turning you into a whirlwind of destruction. However, because this weapon isn't a guaranteed drop, it's easy to miss if you don't know where to look.This guide will walk you through the precise steps required to unlock the Disc Thrower in Abyssus and add this devastating weapon to your arsenal.

Abyssus: How To Unlock Disc Thrower

To acquire the Disc Thrower, you must first solve a hidden environmental puzzle in Act 2. This puzzle is located in a secret room found after you've defeated the boss of Act 2, Stage 4 (Depth 8).

After defeating the boss, you will enter a new room. Here, you'll spot a locked red door covered in mysterious, glowing symbols. To open this door, you need to solve a puzzle by destroying four red glowing crystals that are cleverly hidden throughout the room.

These crystals can be easy to miss, as they are tucked away in grates andother hard-to-see locations. Take your time and inspect every nook,cranny, and opening. If you're having trouble locating them, you canfind the crystals in these specific locations:

• Crystal #1: Inside the grating to the immediate left of the locked red door.
• Crystal #2: Positioned inside the grating on the right side of the small pond in the room's center.
• Crystal #3: Hidden inside a vertical grating located at the top of the room, just before the exit.
• Crystal #4: Tucked away inside the upper right grating directly in front of the locked door.

You can shoot and break the crystals in any order you discover them. Onceall four crystals have been destroyed, the red door will unlock,allowing you to pass through.

Beyond the now-open door, you willfind a hidden tunnel. Proceed into the tunnel, and you'll find the DiscThrower waiting for you, resting near a corpse with a journal. Thispowerful weapon will now be permanently unlocked for future runs.
