What Are Anomalies?

Anomalies are passive, ghost-like orbs of light that are a nocturnal phenomenon. They only spawn at night, between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM, and spend this time floating silently, occasionally becoming invisible. While their brief bursts of light can be a welcome sight in the darkness, their true value lies in what they can be used for.

How to Catch an Anomaly

Capturing an Anomaly is a simple process, but it requires specific tools and a bit of caution.

Crafting a Test Tube: You will need Test Tubes to guarantee a successful capture. While a few can be found in Bio Lab D in the Office Sector, it's far more efficient to craft your own. A Test Tube requires just one Glass Scrap and one Wood Plank at a Crafting Bench.

Safety First: Anomalies are active during the same hours as hostile Security Bots. These bots are a significant threat, so be sure to either disable themor move with extreme caution when hunting for Anomalies.

Locating the Anomalies: While Anomalies can appear in any part of the GATE facility, they aremore common in certain areas. Try searching open spaces like the Cafeteria in the Office Sector and the Garage in Manufacturing West, as well as the long hallways on Level Two in the Office Sector.

Capture: Once you find an Anomaly, place a Test Tube in your hotbar, approachthe orb, and use the "Interact" button to capture it. Each capture usesone Test Tube, but the captured Anomalies themselves are a stackableitem, so they won't consume much inventory space.

After a successful hunt, remember to store your captured Anomalies in a powered Refrigerator. Like food items, they will deteriorate over time if left in the open.

Anomalies are a vital component in a variety of crafting recipes, and they arealso a key currency for two of the game’s most important traders.

Trading with The Blacksmith: The Blacksmith is a crucial NPC located in Manufacturing West. Heoffers high-value trades, and you can exchange a single Anomaly for one Rebar. This provides an excellent alternative source for Rebar, which is a key component for many advanced crafts and base-building projects.

Trading with Marion: After you have completed the Flathill objective and placed a Symphonist Scarecrow near your base, a new trader named Marion becomes available.You can trade him three Anomalies in exchange for one Partial Organ, a rare material used for crafting the powerful Maestro armor set.

Agriculture-Related Crafting

Anomalies are also at the heart of several advanced agricultural items, which can significantly boost the efficiency of your garden. All of these itemsare crafted at a Crafting Bench and applied to a Garden Plot.
