Ubisoft's Call of Duty rival, XDefiant, has finally arrived and is bringing free-to-play first-person shooters to our screens. Higher frame rates give a slight advantage and smoother gameplay to these Twitch shooters. Fortunately, this game has a 120fps mode that you can enable to ensure smooth and fluid frame rates.

How to enable 120 fps mode in XDefiant?

The mode you need to enable is called 120Hz refresh rate, but it's the same as 120fps. To enable this feature, you must ensure that you have a display with at least a 120Hz refresh rate and a high frame rate at the panel/system level. If you have a compatible display, open the Settings menu by pressing the right analog stick on the console and go to the Video menu. At the bottom, you'll find the 120Hz Refresh Rate option. It's disabled by default, so you'll need to enable it even if you have a compatible display and 120Hz mode is enabled at the panel level.

It's worth noting that this mode appears to be available only on PS5 and Xbox Series X. The Series S doesn't appear to have these capabilities, perhaps because it has less graphical power than its older brother. For PC players, change the refresh rate from the default 60.00 Hz to 120.00 Hz. This option is located at the top of the Video & Graphics menu, just below Screen Resolution. Enabling this mode will reduce the graphical fidelity of the game. In other words, it won't look as good. But that's the price you pay for extremely high frame rates!
