The game's design encourages players to seamlessly integrate spellcasting into the flow of combat, rather than treating it as a separate system.

A Guide to Unlocking and Using Spells

• Unlocking Spellcasting: The ability to cast spells is unlocked automatically as you progress through the main story. Once the feature is available, you can begin equipping and using any spells you've acquired.
• Acquiring Spells:
  • Main Story Progression: Early spells are often rewards from major boss fights.
  • Exploration: Other spells can be found by defeating optional mini-bosses and elite enemies scattered throughout the world.
  • Vendors: Spells can also be purchased from vendors at the Shu Sanctuary. To unlock more spell options from these vendors, you may need to complete their specific questlines.
• Casting Spells:
  • Controller Input: Once a spell is equipped, you can cast it by pressing the Y button on an Xbox controller or the Triangle button on a PlayStation controller.
  • Resource: Spells consume a resource called Skyborn Might. This resource is represented by a gauge that fills up during combat.
• Skyborn Might:
  • How to Fill: The Skyborn Might gauge primarily fills up by:
    • Landing attacks on enemies.
    • Performing a perfect dodge (Shimmer).
    • Parrying enemy blows.
  • Restoring: Skyborn Might gradually refills on its own, so you don't need consumable items to restore it. However, certain rare items can be found later in the game that will instantly refill a portion of the gauge, which is useful in a pinch.

How to Switch Between Spells

The game's spell-switching system is designed for quick, mid-combatuse, allowing you to transition between different spells withoutbreaking your combo.

• Equipping Spells: You can equip up to four spells at once in your inventory. The spell listed in the first slot is the one that will be active by default.
• Switching on the Fly: To switch between your equipped spells during a fight, simply press and hold the Y (Xbox) or Triangle (PS5) button, and then tap one of the following buttons depending on the spell slot you want to select:
